We have a lot to celebrate! We are renovating and expanding our Subaru shop and showroom to provide a more comfortable place for our customers to purchase, service, and celebrate their Subies.
On top of our new digs, we have received the 2018 Subaru Love Promise Customer & Community Commitment Award! Why is this so special?
“Only elite Subaru retailers who exhibit remarkable dedication to both pillars of the Love Promise – exceptional service to their customers and extraordinary work in their communities – can earn this award.” – Subaru.com
Our final decorator details will be in place later this fall, but you don’t need to wait until then to pay us a visit. We would love to show you how we earned our new Customer & Community Award; with a no-pressure atmosphere and a noteworthy commitment to our customers.
When The Lincoln Motor Company asked area dealerships to share ‘wishes’ that exist in our local communities, Brian Winters, the General Manager of Gerald Jones Ford Lincoln, responded with a big wish for our local children. He asked The Lincoln Motor Company to help Gerald Jones Ford Lincoln give a Merry Christmas to underprivileged children of the CSRA through a donation of $1000.00 to Toys for Tots. Mr. Winters had already launched a radio campaign earlier in the month, sharing that Gerald Jones Ford Lincoln would match all toy donations dropped off at the dealership. The response was an overwhelming outpour from the community to those in need. After matching the gifts, The Lincoln Motor Company’s additional $1000.00 donation was the cherry on top of what will be a better Christmas for these children.
From Gerald Jones Ford Lincoln, we hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Wow! What a September! F&I and Showroom Magazine announced they had selected Gerald Jones Auto Group as one of their 2017 F&I Pacesetters.
What does this mean? It means that our Finance and Insurance Team has been recognized across all eight Gerald Jones Auto Group brands as being excellent in their field. Criteria for the award included: our policies, practices, procedures, ethics, leadership roles held in our industry, and our support of the community. We were also proud to share our Better Business Bureau A+ rating for all eight auto group brands.
How does this help our customers? It means that our F&I Team brings years of personal experience with lenders, paired with excellent customer service and business integrity.
Congratulations to our F&I Team. You’re the best!
We wanted to make our customers’ Valentine’s Day just a little sweeter. That’s why we called on Augusta’s finest Belgium Chocolatier, Ms. Bébette from La Bonbonnière. She graciously poured over 300 Belgium Chocolate Bars for our customers to enjoy.
If you’ve been meaning to test drive a new car or just need to schedule an oil change, visit any of our stores on Valentine’s Day and receive the sweetest thing next to our excellent customer service; a bar of chocolate from La Bonbonnière.
Happy Valentine’s Day
Love, Gerald Jones Auto Group
Gerald Jones Presents Thunder Over Evans
Preparations for the 2017 Thunder Over Evans are underway. As the Thunder Team is arranging vendors, booking entertainment, and meeting with organizations who share the same enthusiasm for our service men and women, we pause and reflect on how this Armed Forces Day community celebration came to fruition.
Supporting the Armed Forces
Eleven years ago, Andy Jones, Donnie Thompson, and Dale Phelon were having dinner and discussing how the Augusta area needed an event to celebrate Armed Forces Day. From this conversation, Thunder Over Augusta was born. This free admission event brings together the public and military for a celebration and tribute to those who serve. Gerald Jones Auto Group has invested over $750,000 to support the community event for the past 10 years. Wounded Warriors are bused from Fort Gordon to the event for their enjoyment. Veterans and service members are served complimentary meals under the VIP Tent throughout the day.
After out-growing its initial location in downtown Augusta, GA, the event was moved just 10 miles west, to Evans Towne Center Park, and renamed Thunder Over Evans; receiving over 35,000 attendees annually. “It’s about the community, and it’s about thanking the military,” Andy explains. “That’s all it’s about. Donnie and I are huge patriots and this day isn’t about us. We like to thank our sponsors, and they have a few signs out here, but at the end of the day it’s about these men and women in our community. We bring things out for the families – the entire family can come out, bring their dogs, and enjoy a wonderful day. We love our country and that’s what we do.”

Our very own Andy Jones was named Business Person of the Month by Buzz on Biz. Thanks to the author, Neil Gordon, for an article that shines light on the Jones Family story and the heart Andy has for his community.
At age 12, Andy Jones was destined to serve and plan his life’s work in the car business.
In the 1970s, his father, Gerald Jones, owned a Volkswagen car dealership on Milledgeville Road in south Augusta.
“I’d work there after school, we’d go home for supper and my dad, mom, sister and I would come back and clean the building after dinner,” said Jones.
He learned all aspects of the business from his father and attended the University of Georgia in the early 1980s, with the understanding that he would join the family business.
At age 20, in his junior year, Gerald Jones’ partner left and Andy became a minority shareholder with his dad.
“I wanted to quit school before graduation, but Daddy wouldn’t let me,” said Andy.
Father knows best.
Andy graduated one weekend in Athens in 1985, and the next Monday he learned about his future during a rare staff meeting led by his father.
“He told everyone I was in charge.”
